Yes, you'll rather find funk-rock stuff than strictly acid-jazz (once
again we must avoid labels) in their records. Though you've forgotten
their debut album, called "Stoned Woman", which includes more
hip-hop-funky-..... grooves. Anyway i think that album is the less
recommended one (in my opinion). Songs such as "Jesse" or "Mr. Freedom"
make me choose the People tree album as the best one.
