The only other CD release to date is Fatbot Slim's 'Better Living
Through Chemistry' (BRASSICLP2) which is really good. Most of the
tracks are along the line of 'Song For Lindy' from 'Brassic Beats'
rather than 'Santa Cruz'. So if you like that song then you'll like
the rest of the album as most of the tracks are similarly styled (big
beats and nothing too complicated or pretenious. Just good party
music.) except for 'Santa Cruz' and the slo-mo trip hop track 'The
Weekend Starts Here'.

What is this? I've only heard of their 'Frying The Fat' comp. and the
forthcoming 'Central Heating' (is this the one you're thinking of and
is it out yet?). Everything I've heard from that label however has
been outstanding so I'd expect this to be also. (Mainly jazzy hip hop
with lots of scratching and occasional drum'n'bass tracks.)

A mix CD of mix CDs. It had to happen sooner or later!

Along the same lines, I've just got a hold of their latest comp.
'Trans-Central Connection' (ASHADOW7) and was pretty dissapointed.
Just run of the mill stuff that just meanders along and doesn't go
anywhere with well used breaks. (How can so many people go into a
studio and say "I've got a brilliant idea for a new track. Let's use
the Winstons' 'Amen Brother' or Lyn Collins 'Think About It' breaks -
That'll be original!") It does however contain the amazing
'Jazzman' by DJ Addiction and is worth buying for this alone. A true
jazz drum'n'bass tune as opposed to a jazzy one. (If you know what I
mean.)
Colin.
