Hi,
Saw Galliano night before last at Leeds University! They were
kicking!! They played for well over 2 hours, which is always good
for a live band to do. They played most of the stuff off thier new
album FOUR (4) !! They got a good drum n bass track, which the
drummer & percussionist play perfectly!!! I like most of the new
stuff, they seem to be going more jazz folk hip hopish with the odd
jungley track. On the album they do a song with Red Snapper too!
The played most of the old classics Twyford down, Prince of Peace
etc... The best song was a super rendition of 'Jazz' (Jazz is
What?). Each member of the band went solo, culminating in a drum
solo, which goes onto a Latin percussive groove... which then goes
into an afro-Caribbean rhythm. Superb!
Each member of Galliano is a superb musician! I recommend you go
and see them. I enjoyed it so much, I bought the new album the next
day. I think they are touring the UK not sure, definately
playing London I've seen the posters!!
