Does it matter whether we redefine the term a-jazz or not? It has already been
stated that we use labels to classify certain types of music even though the
label itself may be very fuzzy. I never did like the term a-jazz but most of us
(at least I hope so) know what is meant when the term a-jazz is used. Just look
at what happened to Jazz. Those unhappy with the electric elements coming into
the music labelled it jazz-rock,jazz-fusion,fusion,jazz-funk etc. What is a-jazz
but another label for an ever evolving music. Stick to the a-jazz mailing list
and let's stop there.
