I got that record months ago in the premium pool, and I gave it very low
ratings indeed. You see I really liked the music (except for some of the
synths) but that fucker Bono just has a shitty voice, I mean you'd have
this great track going and then he'd start moaning and wailing and totally
ruin the mood.

I say:

Here Here! I would personally stand up and cheer if U2 were completely
blown off of the modern music map. If there's anything that U2 does to
me is "ruin the mood." I am just really tired of mainstream,
"mega-stars" slumming and raiding the hard work of
independent/underground artists.

In a way, though you can't blame people like U2, David Bowie, Rolling
Stones, etc. They're tired, used-up, up to their necks in alimony
payments, and addicted to limelight and MTV interviews. So what do you
do when you run out of creativity and originality? Check out what's
playing in the clubs and indie record stores and pilfer that fresh new
sound. The most heinous crime is when people go out and buy the crap
and go to their billion-dollar concert tours. The consumer is the
criminal here. Oh well.

Sorry for the rant--this is just my own twisted (at the moment)
opinion. I mean no offense to any Bowie/U2/Stones, etc. fans out
there.
