i'm really surprised that no-one seems to see the upside of this...
MORE VISIBILITY! i remember when i used to look at people funny when they said
they were into "alternative". now, admittedly this term is burnt out, but it
took a few years to get there. more likely, we (acid jazz musicians, djs &
listeners) would follow the hiphop model. yes most of the hiphop you hear on
the radio is for sh*t, but there's a few good things too. there's a lot of
acid jazz that sucks and we're still kind of underground. do you remember when

hiphop got the same amt. of airplay that a/j gets now? also, a/j is a very
inclusive term (which can be a double edged sword), much moreso than hiphop,
or house; the unspoken meaning of "alternative" is generally rock...
