i got a technics for about $20 at the salvation army, bought a new belt, a
new stylus, and had it tuned up for another $90.
my advice for turntables is comb the thrift shops. tons of ppl give them
away thinking they're no good anymore, and all the need is a quick trip to
the repair shop, and you're likely to get a better turntable than you
would for the same price new. my mom got a shitty magnavox for more than
my technics, and mine has/will last longer.
if youre not a dj and not into spending several hundred for each of your
stereo components, definitely hit the garage sales.
