Anyway, speaking of JB oriented material...I picked up a JB's "Music Is the
Message" (? the one with "Doin' It To Death", etc.). The cover and vinyl are
both in great condition; however, I'm wondering if this wasn't a reissue
because:
1) It was only $3.00 (I bought this at the same store as the above album who
charge $45-$50 for beat-up James Brown records)
2) the cover is in great condition (very rare for any James Brown items) and
does not look like a reissue cover. ie the way it is constructed; it's not a
single cardboard piece, it's the paper glued onto the cardboard way that they
constructed covers until about he late '70s)
However, the label on the record itself looks strangely different from the
ultra beat-up copy I have myself; it's more 'modern' looking and the typeface
is a little different.
Does anyone know how I can tell for sure? P.S. I also bought The Isley's
"Brother, Brother, Brother", Odonel Levy's "Windows", and Herbie Hancock's
"Thrust"...yeeha.
