Oooh, mmmm, Franti is one of my favorites. I have a huge poster of
Spearhead with lights around it on my fireplace mantle. Their shows tend
to be very diverse and full of energy. How can they not when you go from
a song about HIV to one about rice n beans to one with Marie Daulme?!?!
They seem to have well-attended if not sold out live shows. I missed the
last one because they got added on to a 311 show after tickets went on
sale and there were no good seats left. Pisser!

Overall, though, I think their following here in Chicago is small and
tight but loyal.

cheers,
dawn

ps I love his stuff with DHOH - such obvious social and
political significance. I hear that project partially broke up because
Franti was thought to be very "intense". He doesn't seem to think so. I
remember reading an article about him where he said people think he's
going to be this angry intense man (after listening to his lyrics) when
they meet him but that he's probably just thinking about playing Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles with his kids!
