I've been waiting for something like this to come together for a while.
Now that it'll be commonplace in another year or so its time to get
seriously excited AND worried. Like everyone else here who spends
their every spare cent on musical equipment I'd like to be able live off
of my creative output. I'm hoping these developments will make it easier
for we bedroom producers to bring in more money than we put out on
equipment and studio time....but the death of album cuts?? That could be
a massive problem. Maybe if "albums" were offered for less than
compilations there won't be a problem. Profits (or margins) are going to
skyrocket for labels and artists...so why not have "albums" cost $5 less
than compilations? Or have incentives for people to compile tracks from a
single label or label family and get the cd for less? Final question:
What about the Harry Fox agency and mechanical royalties for songwriters?
I wonder if all of this has been taken care of by Cductive.com and other
companies pulling this thing together?

Oh yea, a lot of my favorite songs make no sense and/or are pointless
without the rest of the album. Just wanted to make the comment...
