I, for one, always have my CD player set on 'Random', so I never hear
an album in its original order anyway. I'm already considering
putting together (on the CDuctive site) a CD of just Fresh Lab tracks
- in essence making a Fresh Lab album. Have they got an album? I'm
not sure - but they have now - and it's only the tracks I like.
And someone mentioned that they couldn't be bothered taking the time
to compile their own CD. I've so far enjoyed 3 sessions just browsing
through all the tracks - haven't a great time jus' listenin' to stuff
- and I've still chosen only half a compilation album. I'm gonna mix
it up a bit - mainly Leftfield, with a couple of ambient tracks, and
a bit of trance. But, it's a lot of fun just choosing the tracks.
In conclusion, I reckon, that to the general mainstream buying
public, this idea won't affect them at all - they're just waiting for
the next Jon Bon Jovi or Leann Rymes album to be released, and don't
want to go to too much trouble to get it..
But for those of us who really get off on their music, explore, and
play with their tastes, know *exactly* the sort of stuff they want,
but want to try new stuff. And also want to create the *perfect*
compilation each time........well, I quite like the way this going.
And as it's now 10.30pm on Chrissy nite, Merry Christmas to y'all!
Marc.
