Most drum & bass is made explictly for the dancefloor(read: brown paper
bag,) while other stuff is more toward the head nodding varitey(anything by
square pusher,the bahamida track on reprezant, you get the picture.)
The repetitive nature of alotta d & b and dance in general is due to the
fact that it's alot easier for a deejay to mix with a track that doesn't
make 90 degree turns every 4 bars, when mixing stuff like that you get more
preceived complexity from beat matching, mixing ect. than you would from the
track by itself. This allows the producer to drag out tunes that wouldn't
sound that great by them selves but end up sounding fine when a little
mixing magic is applied.
