actually, bobby uses his whole body (e.g. dig the chest thump on quincy
jones'
"we be doin' it" from *back on the block*). the album that "don't worry..."
is on (*simple pleasures*) is really good, and he makes all sorts of sounds.
it's real song oriented (he does several pop covers--"sunshine of your love"
has an amazing guitar solo, and "them changes" is as funky as the original).
the next album *medicine music* is a further (and more artistic) exploration

of what he was doing on *simple pleasures* w/multi-tracking his voice. also

check out the album *the voice* to hear what he can do in real time w/just
him
& a mic--parts of the record are live. the earlier stuff like *the voice*
are
on elektra's label "musician", *simple pleasures* and the later stuff are on
sony (he does a wicked version of "flight of the bumblebee" w/yo-yo ma on
their duet record--i forget the title). btw, he emulated miles trumpet for
the movie version of "round midnight" while herbie hancock played the
piano...
