Putting in my coupla' pence worth

Hi all,
Just couldn't let this discussion about Om and CK pass without saying
something in defence of my friend ck smart.
Matt, obviously you don't really know much about Chris (aka ck) so let me
try and put you straight. Chris has probably contributed more to the global
'acid jazz' (for want of a better word) scene than anyone I know of. Through
his various articles in magazines such as Straight No Chaser and Urb magazine
he has inspired a lot of people to examine music that they otherwise might
have passed over. Through his writing and the other various activities that
he has been involved in, he has gained a lot of respect(including from me)
from people that are involved in this ever evolving scene that we all are
interested in. This in itself should make his mail-out's worth reading, I
certainly think so. As regards to promoting the label he works for, I'm all
in favour of it. I think more labels should be on the list promoting their
output, it's a good direct way of getting the information. If you aren't
interested in what's being said, then just delete the message, it's easy
enough to do. It's gotta be better than cluttering up the mailing list with
negative messages, don't you think? That's one reason why I signed off the
Breaks and the IDM mailing lists, waaaaay to bitchy for my liking.
OK nuff said. Other stuff? Just got hold of the remixes of 'the Trip'
(Skylab) with mixes by Roni Size and Naked Funk. Both the mixes are worth
checking out. Roni's mix is hard but funky drum&bass and Naked Funks mix is
just damn funky! Also worth getting is Danny Breaks 'dropin' science' e.p.
for Universal Language. The beats are so ruff you'll think that the speakers
are gonna explode! One side is dark drum&bass the other is dark hip-hop
('Science fu beats, as featured on Headz2). This guy is a tru original.
