Amel Larrieux, Bahamadia and Leroy Osbourne provided vocals with Osbourne
covering Maxwell's slot on 'Softly Softly'. They also covered Boz Scaggs
'Lowdown' as an extra track at the end of the show. Lovely stuff. A number
of remixes were played on tape before the show along with other stuff like
T.K. Power's 'Mutant Jazz'.
Also checked out Wynton Marsalis' 'Blood On The Tracks' show with
Cassandra Wilson, Jon Hendricks, Miles Griffith and the Lincoln center
Jazz Orchestra. It was a loooong piece of work (about 3 hours) with (to
paraphrase a reviewer here) great moments and not so great quarter hours.
I'd say the great instrumental moments and all the vocals made it worth
attending though.
Looking very foreward to: Erykah Badu's show here this Saturday night @
The Bamboo.
