The encoder is at www.realaudio.com. It will even allow you to live stream
and record in any format. You can play them locally (the "welcome" file is
a local file) and you can attach the files as well. It would be the easiest
way to electronically send our demos, because the filesize is nil compared
to au or aiff. I keep 150 megs free on my swapdrive and I encode 3 and 4
hour dats all the time at ISDN Stereo 8khz (Dual ISDN takes up too much
resources for my system) and while it's not great it's better than AM radio
and would get your stuff across enough to know whether it should be
included. To give you an idea, a 5:36 file I made of Merzbow testing Dual
ISDN from a file is just under 4M.
