i actually find that the kick *is* there, just slightly irregular (compared
to house & hiphop)--but maybe that's what you meant. also, if you really
listen, you'll find that a lot of jungle bass lines are actually kick drums
used tonally (dig some of that shit on moving shadow...)

i've seen dylan dance, and it's a treat! it actually reminded me of
thelonius monk--if he hadn't died right before hiphop broke. it makes you
have more fun cuz he's obviously into it!
i have to say, when i'm moving to jungle that it's very much like what dylan
describes--i'm floating w/the dubby bass in 1/2 time--and i use the
breakbeats
for accents.
another person i love to watch dance to jungle is a woman named fiona (l.a.
clubber). she looks almost like she's belly dancing, but w/o all the hand
movements... she was the 1st person (other than my junglist friends--djs,
musicians & dubsters) that i saw dance to the stuff w/o looking like she was
epileptic!
