I'd say it depends how much purchase you want the record to have on the =
slipmat/platter. If you're cutting, scratching or mixing you want the =
record to move freely of the 'spindle' but not too much so that the =
needle jumps. I've always found if you put a rizla paper or two placed =
on the spindle with the record placed on top, it works fine. If you have =
any rizla left over I'd be happy to recommend a more enlightening use =
