I don't think so; the lowest note you can get out of the 808 tom set is
still about 2 octaves higher than where
you'd expect the low bass note to be, and even if they did go lower, the
sustain doesn't even come close.

Trust me, Jungle producers use synths, you can get better control of
sustain/decay and tone. Especially the latter since the "808"/Sinewave bass
sound is considered passe.
