Well since no one else has mentioned any comment regarding the UFO tour
(accept the switzerland show) I thought I'd give my 2 cents..

Well I had to gig till about 12:30 (had someone cover the last of my set
so I could go to the show) so I missed the start of the show but by the
time I showed up they were in the middle of the "acid jazz" classics
...lots of ufo, mondo-grosso and latin, samba, etc.... Huge crowd...

These guys traded sets on the decks to keep the crowd going. 2nd set (I
heard anyway) was a jungle set, it was cool and I think mixed by
Raphael (but I get those guys confused) but I't didnt blow me away like
local DJ's: chillfreeze, db, jazzy nice and numerous others. They did
play a jungle tune that had Dana brants loud minority vocal. "we are
part of a loud minority"

It was a little to loud and they did have a record skip during a mondo
grosso song but i have the same record and it skips in the same place
weird....but its always nice (or mabey refreshing) to hear a
"International DJ Star" skip the stylus...

Lots of people cleared out during the jungle set but they best music
was still to come.... they guys switched agian and went back to the
latin/lounge thing but mixed in some hip hop and house including a remix
I've yet to hear of the Mathar- Dave Pike (from the late 60's early
70's) you know the sitar song that has been sampled on so many tunes
(Towa Tie for example). That song was my favorite of the nite...

Oh I almost forgot.. I love the Japan Hip Hop stuff they mixed in kinda
like MC solaar but speaking japanese.... (is ben still around????) I
hoped that they would at least do a cool remix of some new tracks from
there 3rd perspective but they just played the dub tracks from the
ep....

anyway got to go but I'd love to hear reviews from other cities.....

peace
