Greetings from the Haight. It's official, x-radio moved to nu digs just before Independence Day (the holiday, not the movie, get real....). We are now booming and bombing on The Counter Culture Street of Streets, located midway between the cracked-out ambience of the Lower Haight and the buzzed, smacked and whacked dystopia that is now the Upper Haight (think Walt Disney World imagineered by Mad Max). But we love, love, love, love our 'hood. After all, we are just a cab ride from almost every alternative music operation, space or venue in the City. Oakland is a BART dash away and we've got the scenery. Any x-radio listener who visits the City is more than welcome to come by and visit. All we ask is that you call first (We may not be awake, okay?)

On the technology front, we've been experiencing problems with our
server and apologize to anyone who got those nasty-ass 404 notices.
If you placed orders in the last 10-days and you haven't heard from us, please call us on our toll-free number 1-888-563-6380 to confirm reciept of your order. We hope to have the necessary fixes in place by the end of the month.

On the plain ol' difficult- to- find- front, we are working on an equitable policy for back-ordered and out-of-stock titles, which seems to occur almost daily. We are working to add new distributors for various regions and countries to improve our fulfillment, but we'd like to hear from all our listeners on procedures and policies they'd like to see implemented. Working across as many time zones and continents as we do, what is acceptable in one place is a big consumer no-no somewhere else.

Please direct all your suggestions regarding this issue to x-radio's new General Manager, Stephen McCarrigle (Stephen@x-radio.com). Look for a fulfillment/service survey from Stephen in the next few weeks. We'd appreciate your comments on the level of service, selection and delivery.

Speaking of delivery, after much wailing and nashing of teeth by our editorial staff, we're proud to announce the birth of the first x-radio Listener Reward Review. First, thanks to everyone who submitted reviews for June. We promise, the July winners will be announced the first week in August. As an added inducement, we're developing a Review Rewards database that will allow listeners who submit reviews to accumulate credits that can be applied towards future x-radio purchases. This is in addition to the monthly selectionprize. Think of it as x-cash. We're reviewing the liability issues and should have the guidelines posted by the end of the month. So, get those keyboards clicking and haul out your thesaurus, there's money to be made for mouthing off.

The winner of x-radio's Listener Review Reward for June is Anarch@scruznet.com. Anarch's review of The Eternal Frequency/Various Artist Compilation covered the basics, outlining the factors that made the record memorable (or excreblee according to others, and we know the old cliche about opinions). Anarch wins a $50 credit to be applied to any future x-radio purchase. Kudos to the runner ups, LLangdon@zebra.net for a pithy endorsement of Ubiquity Records artist Molasses, and jmeyer@fgi.net for a completely amusing excursion into pointlessness. We laughed, we cried, we were appalled at the literary license. We would like to remind you both, that should Anarch be unable to perform the duties of office, than either of you can assume... Oh, wait, that's Miss America. We want reviews, what else can I say.

Oh, yeah, look for a redesign of the site over the next several weeks. We hope to conclude a cross-publishing deal with XLR8R, the San Francisco-based Electronic Music magazine. We won't have this feature up until later this month, but thanks to all at XLR8R for helping make this possible. You'll also be able to subscribe to the magazine from our site, should you need your bi-monthly dose of subcultcha'.

That's the score for now, stay tuned for the next x-radio installment.
