sup y'all,
i was listening to the radio the other day (roger troutman's show on
kiss-fm here in the nyc area) and he played this song that, for the life
of me, i can't recall the artist, so i thought i'd bounce it off of
y'all.
it's an uptempo funky-dance tune probably from the late 1970s. it's
a female singing the leads and she's backed up by males (one of whom
sounds strangely like al green.) the refrain goes like this:
"i hear music in the street,
yes i feel the funky beat,
and i get down, oh i get
down
(i hear music in the
street.)"
it's been killing me the whole weekend, and my own efforts to find
out have failed. the woman's voice sounds incredibly familiar. anyway,
any information would be greatly appreciated.
