A quick word to San Francisco and New York City heads. MetaBass 'n'
Breath, a hip hop crew from Sydney Australia, are coming your way in the
very near future. They're way funky, incorporating live
drums/bass/rhodes/scratching, good rhyming and freestyling, and beatboxing.
Their brand of hip hop is also very *Australian* and underground - they
have resisted the pressure to sound like the American hip hop that
dominates commercial labels and radio over here.
So, if you happen to be in the area when they play, it would be a good
chance to celebrate the whole global/local beauty of hip hop in full
effect. Not sure exactly where/when the gigs are, but look out for them in
the next few weeks.
Oh yeah, and their CD "Seek" is worth picking up if they sell it at the gigs...
