OK, this has nothing to do with acid jazz, but I hope you groovophiles will
appreciate it nonetheless...

Came across a ssssmokin' album at the Sam the Record Man today, consisting
of 16 very old original ska tunes from Jamaica. Title is This is Ska! and
contains an absolutely rock solid lineup: two by Des Dekker, a couple by the
Ethiopians, Miss Jamaica by Jimmy Cliff, the original Rudy, A Message to You
and Carry Go Bring Home (reworked by the Specials and Selecter during the
late70s Brit ska wave) and a holy-shit-this-rocks cover of Watermelon Man by
the Baba Brooks Band. Other originals: Return of Django (Upsetters), I'm in
the Mood for Ska (Lord Tanamo), Guns of Navarone (Skatalites) and Longshot
Kick De Bucket (Pioneers). If you want a one-album primer, this should be
it. It's a brand new comp on the Music Collection International Ltd. label
(address: 3-38 Caxton Way, Watford, Herts WD1 8UF UK).

Also: I'm looking for the soundtrack to Sweet Sweetback's Baaadass Song.
Anyone know if it's on CD anywhere, how to find it, etc?
