"Did you know he was shot dead on Sunday?"
Yes, I know! But I didn't feel like bringing it up since it was already all
over the media.
Then DJ Herb wrote:
"As for him being killed, thats a shame...i dont wish anyone dead...
still i cant to get the words *poetic justice* out of my head. Heres a
guy that was a big (no pun intended) part of the reason why Hip Hop are
being turned into a easy-sellable home entertainment thing for kids that
depend on MTV and The Source/Vibe when it comes to picking their music.
Anyone who takes something i really love (Hip Hop) and totaly anihilates
75% of its content (b-boying, dj'ing and writing) gets no respect from
me..sorry, thats just my opinion."
I totally agree with you that all the east-west-who's-the-hardest-gun-talk
is doing no one any good. It takes the focus of what's most important (which
of course is music) just for someone to make money or get a rep.
BUT... I still like his music. As long as it doesn't come out in the artist
music (diss tracks etc) I don't really care what he does. By that I'm not
saying that I approve of his behaviour, but only that songs like "The What"
and "Unbelievable" are still great eventhough I know he used to be a drug
dealer. I can understand anyone who disagrees and won't buy his records
because of what his doing outside the studio, but like DJ Herb said
"..sorry, thats just my opinion"!
