I have EXPERIENCE IN COOL 1, and it's definitely along the same
lines as the K&D mix (i.e., seriously spliffed-out). Includes
some out-and-out classics, like Spacer's "Watch the Skies," Howie
B's "Breathe In," and DJ Food's "Consciousness." If you don't
have all of these already, it's a must-buy.

On a related note, the new 2 Kool compilation THE SINGLES BAR
is a real bargain! At mid-price (I paid $13.99), it collects
several previous singles from the 2 Kool label. (Their previous
comps have been mostly licensed material.) I must confess I
hadn't been paying too much attention to these singles because
so many of them were released as gimmicky picture discs. Well
now I know what a dummy I was! This compilation is great all
the way through, and covers a lot of ground: ethno-trance, hip
hop, trip hop, breakbeat, drum 'n' bass, good old-fashioned
acid jazz, etc. There's something for everyone on here, and
I'd highly recommend it to everyone on the list. Here's a
rundown of the contents:

Neil Sparkes & The Last Tribe - Achtung Salaam! (UNICEF Mod Mix)
Mr. Electric Triangle - Is the 'Erb Dope?
Solar Plexus - Omshanti
Peanut Butter Wolf - When You Feel Good, Things Can Turn
Improvised Explosives - Strong Vibrations (Jimmy Sitar Watson Mix)
Nobby Stylus - Bite the Bullet
James Bong - Mr. Kiss Kiss Bong Bong
No Se feat. Menelik - Quelle Aventure (Takin' No Shorts Mix)
The Quiet Boys - Everybody Loves the Sunshine (Sun & Bass Mix)
Reality Drip - Causeway (Power Transfer Mix)
A Man Called Adam - The Jihad (Parts 1 & 2)
