Well, maybe by today's standards, but in the 80s, it sounded real cool.
That's the one with "Divine Intervention"
on it, right? I liked that tune, and from what I remember, it was pretty
soulful.

Speaking of Moyet, does anyone agree with me that Yaz tunes are good enough
that they could be covered and funkified with today's beats? I mean picture
"Situation" with a funked-up bassline and clavinet line; picture
"Don't Go" with a horn section playing the lead synth line.

Man, that gives me an idea. Get all these early 80s new wave tunes and
cover them in an acid jazz, funk, trip-hop and jungle format. Hmmmm.... I
know Art of Noise has been remixed and junglized lately. I'd love to do a
funked-up AJ treatment of Haircut 100's "Boy Meets Girl" or Spandau
Ballet's "Chant No. 1" or any Jam or Style Council tune.
Has anyone else done AJ or Electronica-style covers of early 80s tunes?
