Now you often get CDs with 4 or 5 or more record companies mentioned on the
back.
In front of me I have the album 'Mixed Emotions - Jazz in the Eighth
Dimension'. On the back it has 4 companies mentioned - Charged, Vital,
Delancey Street, and Eighth Dimension.
Which one is 'officially' the record label, and what are all the others? I
know this music started out on Eighth Dimension, and now seems to be
released on Delancy Street (that's 'licensing', right?). So, that accounts
for two of 'em. So who are the rest? And where do they fit into the scheme
of things?
Actually, I presently entering my CD collection into a database, and
there's a space there for 'label', and I can often not quite figure out the
answer.
