NEW YORK - Jamiroquai's flashy and funky frontman Jason Kay will star in
his own sitcom on NBC to debut in the fall 1998 TV season. The show,
tentatively called "Boy Wonder" will feature Jay Kay as a hip British soul
singer living in the household of a conservative farm family in the
midwestern United States.
"Jay Kay has a charisma that is unrivalled," said NBC exec Warren
Littlefield. "He's a natural for television." According to _Daily Variety_,
Jay's character is planned to be the 90s version of 'Happy Days"' 'The
Fonz'. The series begins production shortly after Jamiroquai's world tour.
The series is also planned to be aired in the UK via the Channel 4 network.
"I'm excited, obviously. It's a great opportunity to do my thing for
American TV... Of course, I'm the greatest entertainer that ever lived, so
don't you forget it," said Kay.

<JUST KIDDING!>
Seriously folks, Jamiroquai *will* be on NBC this month: the band will be
performing on "The Tonight Show
With Jay Leno" on May 16th and "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" on June 3rd.
As a matter of fact, "Late Night" was the first American television show to
feature Jamiroquai playing live; they performed "When You Gonna Learn?"
back in early '94.
