1. Blood, Sweat & Tears - "What goes up! / Best of..."
A great jazzy collection with recordings from 1967 - 1975.
The early songs are more jazz-rock and the ones from the mid-70's
are more jazz-funk-fusion. BS&T are almost always forgotten when
people talk about the early groups. It's a double CD that can be
found in the "nice price" section.
2. The Crusaders - "And beyond..."
Another great collection and a "nice price" CD.
Lots of Rhodes Piano, lots of fusion, lots of saxophone, lots of
Motown-feeling. It also include the long version of the song
"Street life" with all the solo's.
3. Vibe - "Sanctified"
A great Swedish record which includes the song "fallin' down" that
also can be found in the AJ collection "totally wired Sweden".
The sound is not too far from Brand New Heavies.
4. The Whole Thing - "The Whole Thing"
The old AJ favourite with Jan Kincaid (BNH) on drums. Another cool
fusion project. What happened to them after this record?
5. Newtone - "Newtone"
Another great Swedish group which also had a song on
"totally wired Sweden". It also sounds a bit like BNH, but with
an own horn section and a good male soul-voice.
