Yeah I most agree. Anything that DJ Smash touches is so Groovy Groovy
Jazzy Jazzy.

First of all, I hope that someone is cutting and pasting all of these top
fives because this list could put out the Acid Jazz Starter (Listening)
Kit.

Big ups to Elson on that Gus Gus, went to pick that up on the strengh of
his
enthusiasm.

Here's my 5:

Adventures in Paradise -- Minnie Ripperton
The whole damn thing but two tracks include samples for some of a Tribe
called Quest's greatest.

Cum Together -- Dianne Reeves & Cassandra Wilson
DJ Smash (Giant Steps, New Breed, Fat Jazzy, Grooves) is BACK with this
7+
minute remake of the Beatles(?) Come together. Great vocals and Smash
lets
the music breathe...about 3 minutes of music after the last vocals.

Other side of the Game/Appletree -- Erykah Badu
The two Roots-produced tracks on Badu's album...nuff said!

Sometimes (RMX) -- BNH
The Ummah (Tribe) mix is bouncy with that quirky way that Tip and crew
plays
with the back beat...and Q-tip sounds refreshed on the formulaic rap.

I'll Play the Fool -- Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band
The first song on an Album that mixes, swing jazz, big band jazz, and
disco.
It's like going to a 20's jook joint in the '70s.
