A sincere apology to all for recently sending such a gigantic file. I
screwed up and I hope it didn't cause too much damage.

OM Records comes with it's 6th full-length out in stores this week. Two
formats: Double gatefold vinyl and double CD-Rom (including the first
ever Digital Beat Box)

It's called Deep Concentration (inspired by Premier) and it's about the
future of hip-hop. At the same time, it's a historical look into the
past achievements of the hip-hop DJ.

There's some very innovative stuff happening on the album, including a
touch of drum & bass, Hammond B3, rare sampling techniques, jazz
etc....but the roots are definitely in hip-hop (not rap).

It has a fair amount of battle scratching on it as well as some more
"experimental" beats from some younger producers. We've put a lot of
time and effort and sweat into it and we're all quite proud of it. It's
available at most stores around the country from Virgin to Tower to the
beatest beat-head shop in your own town.

Ask around about it and if you don't see it where you shop for music,
ask the store to order it. Or get more info from our
website.....www.om-records.com.

I wrote liner notes for it, took the back cover photo and got the music
together. It's been a great project to work on and I'd like to know
what some of you think about it. Forgive me for being completely
engrossed in it, and for not keeping up our regular correspondences, but
hopefully you'll understand why I choose to make such a commitment to it
and to OM when you check it out. Here's who's on it....

Cut Chemist
Prince Paul
Radar (Phoenix)
The Angel and Cokni O'Dire
The X-Men (Roc Raida, Mr. Sinister, Rob Swift)
Peanut Butter Wolf
Lyrics Born and Lateef the Truth Speaker
Babu and J-Rocc of the Beat Junkies
DJ Swingsett and DJ Wally
Mumbles (San Diego, L.A.)
Q-Burn's Abstract Message (Orlando)
Beyond There (London - they work at Mr. Bongo)
Ingrid de Lambre (DJ Chris from Yellow Productions)
Eddie Def (The Space Travelers)

Also, if you listen to college radio, request it from your favorite beat
head DJ.

A very incomplete list of DJs who are currently giving it love on their
turntables:

Q-Bert
DJ Shadow
Ben Wilcox
James Lavelle
Stretch Armstrong
Rhettmatic
Gilles Peterson
Shortkut

If you decide the CD is more your style, check the CD-Rom, which has
over 240 samples on it and allows you to make your own hip-hop cuts.

Take care. Respect.

peace and good music.

music is universal...

"When you're playing drum you're touching the heart and the brain. That
what move the people. That what move the spirit in the people. Cah the
people cannot move until you touch their spirit, and you wake their
spirit and the spirit wake their body."
