Um, yes it has -- back in the 'early days' of the list (I should know, I
started that thread).

Basically, if you're one that wants to follow fashion, any hip-hop, 70s
retro, grunge or raver look is common in AJ clubs. Heck, *any* look is
accepted in AJ clubs (at least the ones I have been to). The words "Dress
Code Strictly Enforced" are not synonymous with Acid Jazz. In my
experience, no one in the Acid Jazz scene is particularly obnoxiously
snooty fashion-wise. In other words, to paraphrase Digital Underground:
"Dress how ya like!"
