The live album is a very good album with a nice cover of a Kool and the
Gang track which I can't remember (I'll check tonight when I get home if
you need it) but the Alive allbum is an even badder album. Check out
"Jan Jan"; a cover of "Walk in the Night" originally by Junior Walker
and the Allstars, "Walk in Franklin Park", this track is really hot, a
cover of "Fancy Free" by Donald Byrd, and an even better cover of
"Betcha by Golly Wow". One of my most played pieces of vinyl. Essential
listening to anyone that appreciates serious groove.

I was just listening to Green's cover of "Hurts So Bad" last night and
considered posting a "top one" list with this song. This one's on a Blue
Note rare groove series release, "Carryin' On," recorded in 69. This
whole album has these great, smooth groove, long tracks that you wish
wouldn't stop. I could kick myself when I consider all the crap I used
to
listen to when this recording when this recording first came out. Now I
guess I've got to get my hands on this live album you...
