"Like the sound you hear, that lingers in your ear..."

Pin-point the sample?

Last tuesday (13th) the Wall Of Sound posse came to visit and I figured
you want to know how it went down? (I'll tell you anyway)

First it has to be said that the crowd turn up was a bit dissapointing.=20
I guess most people don't connect Wall of Sound with the artists (yet).
As a warm-up and between the live acts, one of the Wiseguys was=20
spinning. (After looking at the photos on their album cover I identified=20
him as Touch=E9). Just as last time he was here he did a great job - mixing=
=20
and scratching as if it was his last gig ever.=20

I thought Les Rhythmes Digitales was only one person, but it turned out
to be two. An excellent drummer and a funny looking guy at the keyboard/
equalizer or whatever it was. (Same haircut as Bobby Ewing in "Dallas"
but it was red). Everthing was done over DAT, which at first felt like
they were cheating us, but the combination of pre-recorded and live=20
drums was excellent. Never heard or seen anything like it. (Wish they=20
did that on their records!) Best part was perhaps when they used the=20
instrumental of their rmx of Mekons "Skool's out" combined with some=20
furious drumming. (He must have gone through at least 5 or 6 sticks!)

The touch=E9 came back. Did his stuff, then...

The Dirty Beatniks hit the stage. Four guys (DJ, Bass player, drummer
and I can't remember what the last guy did) following the same concept
as L.R.D. DATwise. A little hesitating at first but after a while every-
one was on the floor, including the WOS guys who weren't playing. Pretty
cool, and once again some unbelievable battering. (I'm seriously=20
considering getting a set of my own).

Touch=E9 added some scratching on the last track and then finished the
evening with style. I have to say that I was impressed with the way
they made the place rock even though it was only half full. I'd say
I spent those $5 pretty wisely.
