Modern Romance?

Hello.

Anyone heard of a group called "Modern Romance"?

They did a few records in the early 80's and the sound is typical from
that period in time. They were quite inspired by funk-salsa-latin music,
and on the album "Adventures in clubland" (1981), you can hear some
ugly-early-80's-rapping. A french girl is rapping the text "I'm the queen
of the rapping scene", pronouncing the r's in a french way...uhhh..it's
awful but rather funny to hear in 1997... she was only a quest musician.
On the album "Trick of the light" (1983) some songs were played rather
frequently on the radio, if I remember right. "Best years of my life" was
one of them I think.
I have "Modern Romance" on vinyl but I haven't seen them on CD.

The setting:

Geoffrey Deane - vo,rap
David Jaymes - b, -vo
Robbie Jaymes - keyb, hca, -vo
Paul Gendler - g, ba, -vo
John Du Prez - tp, frh
Andy Kyriacou - dr, perc, -vo

Geoffrey was replaced by "Michael J Mullins" on "Trick of the light".

They are not my "favourites" but it would be fun to hear more about them.
Anyone?

/Andreas
