Well, there I was - working away in the same dreary room I have for
the past couple of years.
I'm an editor in a TV newsroom, and I placed my script in the same
place I have every day for the past couple of years - on top of this
now unused record player that sits next to me.
I went back to staring at the monitor when it hit me!! `What the hell
is *that*??' I cried, ripping my script away from on top of the record
player.
Sure enough, sitting there was an almost unused Technics SL-1200MK2 !!
`Oh' I thought `this useless piece of junk is just taking up valuable
space. Maybe I should suggest to the boss that we get rid of it'.
So, I did just that. And the boss agreed! And, being the kind-hearted
guy that I am, I said *I* might have a bit of use for it at home, and
offered him $50 for it.
`Just take it' he said `Don't worry about paying for it'
`OK' I said.
So, I'm now the proud owner of an SL1200 that's seen about 2 hours of
use in its life!
Oh.......my mistake......I said *one* SL1200.....What I *meant* to say
was *FOUR* SL-1200s.
:-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
And here's me - not a DJ, and with no desire to become one!
Needless to say, the `For Sale' ad is already up in the local record
shop, and a picture of an Akai sampler is now glued to my computer.
Merry Christmas!
Oh, isn't life wonderful??
Marc.
