That sounds interesting, particularly given that Laswell's latest release
is "Dreams of Freedom" subtitled "Devotional Dub Remixes by Bill Laswell"
on which he remixes Bob Marley classics. Apparently he had total access to
all of the master tapes in the Tuff Gong vaults. Coulda been stunning.
Maybe Laswell's now specializing in "remixing" true greats. Sorry to sound
cynical, but the four tracks I've heard so far from the Marley project are
pretty lame...sad to say it as I used to be a huge Laswell fan. C'est la
vie I s'pose. I, for one, am hoping that the Miles Davis re-worked by
Laswell is incorrect info. On the other hand, Miles done *well* in a dub
stylee could be fantastic.
I'd love to have to eat my words on this one.
