hiya all,

Gee whiz, just when I thought the entire list consisted of ex pop-metal
headz ;-) ... someone comes along asking ??'s close to my 80's influenced
heart <g>...

>What Liquid Liquid stuff has been re released on Mo Wax? (website anyone?)
>And what Bush Tetras stuff has been re released? I seem to be on a bit of
>an early 80s erm..."tip" at the moment, Slits, Pop Group etc so hearing
>about the NYC stuff is cool too. And if anyone knows about any ESG stuff
>on cd that would be cool too.

The Mo' Wax reissue of Liquid Liquid contains all 3 of their ep's... I
believe that's all she wrote where these guys are concerned...and it's
*really* nice to be able to hear this stuff which has been pretty much
impossible to track down (personally, I've only got the infamous e.p. with
"Cavern" on it). Man, I wish all the Slits stuff would be reissued - I lost
all of my Slits stuff years ago when some a**hole thief ripped off a few of
my crates. Grrrrrr....in fact I lost a ton of my 80's punk and funk-punk
etc. in that one.

Bush Tetras: ROIR put out a compilation a few years back and another label
(I'll have to check) issued another -even better- one. Both are fairly easy
to find. Also, the band recently reformed (all 4 original members) and have
just released a brand new album entitled "Beauty Lies". Fans will
definitely want to check it...pretty good with some tracks totally
fantastic. They've also been doing gigs regularly in NYC (saw them a few
months back...great fun!) and are just setting up to do dates in other
cities/states. I have an e-mail address for Laura the bass player if anyone
is interested.

ESG: a fantastic compilation was issued on cd in 1991 on Pow Wow records
outta New York. It's just called ESG and has all the classics..."Moody";
"U.F.O."; "Erase You"; "Get Funky" etc. etc. I still *love* these women. A
coupla years back they also reformed (somewhat) and released an (o.k.) e.p.
on vinyl entitled "Samples Don't Pay the Bills" nudge nudge wink wink. They
also do the occasional live gig in NYC and have been on bills with Luscious
Jackson and others...I think even Bush Tetras actually.

Hope that's fun & useful info for ya. Personally, I'm glad to have an
excuse to think about and listen to the old stuff again <g>....next I'll
pull out my Au Pairs and Animal Slaves and Clash and... gee a whole new
80's thread could begin!

Take care ya'll.
