Three new compact discs released by O. O. DISCS featuring: electro-acoustics
with JERRY HUNT, throbbing guitars with SETH JOSEL and six new works for the
GAMELAN PACIFICA. These three discs are a slice of the contemporary music
world ranging from the venerable John Cage to the cross-cultural explorations
of TRANCE GONG. Guitar virtuoso SETH JOSEL performs works of John Cage, Lois
Vierk, James Tenney and Phill Niblock in a tour-de-force performance of new
works for electric guitar on GO GUITARS (OO #36). GAMELAN PACIFICA'S TRANCE
GONG (OO #37) features this Seattle based gamelan about which The Wire of
London wrote, "The range of pieces is impressive.... highly recommended to
anyone following the development of gamelan." and The Chicago Sun-Times wrote
that Gamelan Pacifica, ".... creates a landscape of sounds as intricate and
hypnotic as any you will ever hear. JERRY HUNT, HARAMAND PLANE (OO #38),
features music for interactive electronics and assorted stuff by this
inscrutable Texan. Mysterious, oddly beautiful and completely eccentric, this
music is almost impossible to describe; something like the musical equivalent
