Damn! (excusez le mot) Every person that can write about music like that =
and is a newcomer to the aj-list deserves a big welcome me thinks...
=20
I remember when a mate of mine was spinning "Blow your Mind" some years =
ago and a guy came up to the tables saying: "I don't know shit about =
music and I don't know the artist but this is groovy. It sounds like =
those old funksters but then again it doesn't, what the hack is this?" =
Maybe it helps to know less or to be of lower intelligence...My band =
plays a lot for mentally disabled kids and kids with learning problems =
but when our samba-reggae hits they all go wild. To me it doesn't have =
to sound original to groove as long as I can see that the person puts =
its soul into the music.=20

I think it's impossible for Stevie and Jay to sound alike because they =
come a different background and generation. Anyway they're both going to =
be in my collection for a long time because they both sound wicked to =
me. My ears aren''t yours.=20

Some people were mentioning the size of their record collection, this =
made me curious to what the other people on the list have in stock, =
who's the biggest spender of y'all? Braggin' 'n Boastin' allowed for =
this occassion :) I know you're going to be ashamed to tell it to the =
list.
=20
another question: I heard that the cd version of Rebirt of Cool 7 had =
six! songs more than the lp version. Can anyone confirm that? I hope =
not.
=20
peace,
Jeroen

"music is music, lyrics is lyrics" Bob Marley

p.s. thanks for all the recommendations for good reggae artists/albums. =
I'm moving in the right direction now.=20
