I wouldn't be so quick to say that, "It has all been done," ever listen to
the more avant-garde d'n'b groups (actually d'n'b in general is new, a new
way of looking at the breakbeat): lamb, squarepusher, photek. People are
coming up with new stuff all the time, some combine other stuff to make new
music as denise wrote.
But, within this whole debate I can't help thinking of a T.S. Eliot quote
that goes something to the effect of:
"The great borrow, genius steals" i.e.Apple stole (from Xerox PARC)
Microsoft borrowed (from Apple), Puff Daddy borrows, Coldcut steals, etc,
(any others?).
