I haven't heard Olive, so I don't know what they actually sound like, but
John's description here makes me think that if anyone out there likes a
Lounge influence on their "electronic music with a girl singer" bands,
check out Broadcast. THe album is called "Work and Non Work" and it is
awesome! Doesn't cop portishead and the like at all, so don't expect
that. It's not that slow, not that sad. Every once in a while I hear a
little stereolab, but the more I listen to it the more that comparison
goes away. It's great!!
