I don't know your definition of "danceable", but the big band, trad
sound of the thirties and forties jazz was definitely considered
danceable at the time, and now is part of ballroom dance repertoire.
Even though such jazz is danceable, I think it's safe to say that the
Count Basie and Duke Ellington big band sounds are not considered
acid-jazz.
