"Deal With It" was described by GENJI as "electrofunk" and their answer to the "so-called big beat" genre. Its a super-funky track with JONATHAN MARON plucking a mean bass. Its taking "Everybody" and making it 10 times funkier, everything falls into place: RICHARD WORTH (flute) interplays well with JONATHAN during the breaks, where its just bass & flute. NAPPY G & CHRIS THEBERGE (percussion) come in right on time after a keyboard (whats sounds like a moog) solo and the horns are strong, throughout. Vintage Collective!... and they seem to get better with each new release...
I'm told by KPFT brass that they're ironing out some legal kinks in order to broadcast via the net. Hopefully fellow listees can listen in sometime soon. In the past couple of weeks we've been lucky enough to interview KING BRITT and ITAAL SHUR (Big Muff, Atomica, former keyboardist for Groove Collective). After 3 years of doing the show I've developed a spontaneous way of putting some of the artists behind the scenes in closer touch with the listening audience through phone interviews.
