And, for a different kind of spoken word there is Ken Nordine, his Wordjazz
show is pretty amazing, it was on late night on WBEZ in Chicago when I was
there. His show has been around so long that Jerry Garcia remembers
listening to him when he was young! His latest album is Colors that's
actually an old compilation of 90 second spots on different colors he did
for a Bay Area paint company's radio spots. He also has "The Best Of Word
Jazz Vol. 1" out that has such classics as 'What Time Is It?', 'My Baby',
and others. I also recognize his voice on many radio and TV spots.
