> original track is pretty dope. They should have made it the background

there's a mix on a 7" i got from sony that's kinda interesting--probably the
one everyone's referring to--house tempo, but w/o the ubiquitous "four on
the
floor" kick pattern. there's apparently an import remix 12" that features
an
ummah (tribe called quest) remix--i should be able to post about it sometime
friday or saturday (i.e., quick review).

and now the review...

there are 4 mixes one is a rock tune (well, it's got power chord guitars) i
guess that's the album mix. i'm not that crazy about it--aren't there
enough
rock bands around? sorry, i have a hard time w/bad to average rock...

the metro mix (known as jay's remix on the 7") is a good driving
remix--house
tempo minus the house kick pattern--with a really nice synth bass line, even
though it's quite repetitive (that's funk for ya...).

the s-man remix is the usual d. morales jazzy house, nuff said.

if the ummah's rub is what interests you in this 12", save your money!!!
the
usual fat bass tone, but there's a really annoying keyboard chord riff--like
a bad jerry lee lewis/little richard piano part (probably not even played by
someone that interesting)--that wrecks the whole thing. it doesn't really
go
anywhere, which wouldn't be a problem if i thought the groove was dope...

in closing, anyone that is interested in this 12" can buy it from me for $10
+ shipping (pretty much what i paid for it). the metro mix is good, but i
already have it...

p.s. the new omni trio record ("who are you") is good if somewhat mellow.
i'm not that crazy about the ez rollers mix, though...
