Yup, it's true. At the Beasties show in Denver, they stated that the
upcoming album available Sept. 29th (keeps pushing back!) in the US was the
last Tribe album. They then assured the crowd that they weren't "gonna
leave y'all hangin'" and they would still be "comin' on strong" in different
forms in the future. Then they proceeded to give a really heartfelt thanks
to the Beasties whom they credited as some of their biggest supporters
through highs and lows. I believe Q-Tip even said that there wouldn't be a
Tribe without the Beastie Boys.
What a loss. They've always been one of the best crews in the scene, IMHO,
and have kept me interested in rap music when it took a nosedive into all
the gangsta and Puffy crap.
