The story is, as I understand it (a collection of facts and hearsay !)
such....

A&M folded as part of the Polygram restucturing deal, and the bloke who had
signed Lavelle et al left the new company. Mo'Wax lost a high six figure
amount for A&M in the last year, which will come as no suprise to those of
you who like me have ever worked out their manufacturing costs and then
deducted them from deal prices and worked out their margins across sales.

Worse still, is that the major Mo'Wax acts (Shadow, Money Mark, UNKLE,
Attica Blues) are not signed to Mo'Wax but to Polygram, their contracts
being sold over as part of the original A&M deal. This means that although
Lavelle has taken Mo'Wax over to XL Recordings to continue it's existance,
the premier acts will either have to be bought out their existing contracts
with Polygram, or no longer be released under those monikers.

Mind you, if Lavelle or associate is lurking on the list, and would like to
give us the real deal, please do !
