Neon Phusion - Space Jam (Laws of Motion) 12"
The first mix ( Phusion mix) is noisy, junglistic, kind of spacey and has a
nice groove. The 2nd mix (Rollercone mix) is the one I bought it for, laid
back, spacey, nice uptempo latinesque beat ith a dark groove with a warm
synth & light percussion in it. The B-side can be missed..
Universal principles - inspirational breaks 12"(soma)
a-side: percussive jazzy house, driving bassline & keyboard, not too much
happening...
B-side: vocal mix, a guy telling a story about universal principles of
music and black music, 4/4 house beat, this is good percussive jazzy
house...dance the night away! lovely, get it...
Mos - Fly Ball 12" (Pork)
Triphop de-luxe, a real pork product, jazzy laidback grooves on the
titletrack, fat bassline and someone playing the mouth-harp.
B-side: Billy Bibbit, slooowww.....and nice, very trippy and warm, makes me
forget about the rain, ice and snow outside...
B-side: Casa Strasse, weird junglish tune, flutes, heavy bass and light
beat.
Did I tell you already about the new Daude #2 album? it's great, smooth
brazilian/african soulfunkjazz, even some hiphop on track 2..percussive at
times..
Pete Rock album Soul Survivor (Loud), your highness.....hiphop essential!
finally I have it....
oh and I heard a marvellous track by Urban species with Terry Callier
(older, on a 96 compilation of Talkin Loud) Religion and
Politics...nice,nice,nice...did this make it to a 12"?
happy Sinterklaas everyone....anyone going to Back to Planet Rock in
Eindhoven (Holland) tomorrow..with Grandmaster Flash, Ramahlzee (sp?) Rock
Steady crew, old school party......I have to work &$#@!!!
cheers,
